After my new job at Weta Digital kept me busy for a while, I decided to work on a personal project again. The idea was to improve my sculpting skills and my human anatomy knowledge by modelling a female portrait. Then shade and light it in a realistic way, testing the new features of Vray for skin and lighting.
A special thanks goes to my fiancée for letting me use her face as reference, and to Alessandro Mozzato for all his great hints during the lighting process. Here is a quick overview of the light rig:
