This is another collaboration with Bacon, a Production company based in Oslo, in another terrific short film for Canal Digital. My job was to completely rework a Bell Jet Ranger helicopter that they bought on Turbosquid and transform it into its military counterpart, the OH-58. The model required many small improvements, and the textures and lookdev had to be entirely done from scratch. The asset was supposed to be very detailed, as in the initial edit, the protagonist of the film was carried away in a helicopter and there were very close shots of the outside and the inside. Unfortunately, in the final edit, that sequence has been replaced with the one on the prison bus. The only shot with the helicopter left in the final film doesn’t do much justice to all the work I’ve done… So I decided to adding some more details and decals to match a specific variant from the Vietnam War and create my own renders.
